Swedish Mayour Margareta Makes Marvelous food!

Tuesday the 10th August 7-9pm

Swedish food tasting event and demo.

Get to eat in the town hall , wonderful food and a glass of something nice.

Raise money for our mayors fund –the young peoples caravan project.

All for £10.

Take it from me a person who loves food and has tried our very own Mayours delightful fair , this is an evening not to be missed.

Sounds great but I will not be going, as I don't like the Youth Caravan much for siding with 'Tod Together', a great pity. Why not have a Curry do for Abid though as he's goin to Pakistan to help with the Earthquake stuff, sounds up your street...

Was the Indian curry fest started by Todmorden Together, just wondering that's all.

Yes it was and I was told by the Police to keep away from the Town Hall.

You went to the Poland do, so I remember you stayed with me.

Is that foodfest the one that lasts a week starting at Hebden Bridge.

They made the market seem a little fuller, however as entertaining and awareness-raising as this stuff is on a serious note:

I think it is important that food security as a serious issue ought to be tackled in the mainstream market, via combatting establishment planning which changes our economy from a market-based food supply. Todmorden has good hillsides and we need to start looking at a way of renting unproductive land as allotments, via a 'Growers Union' or suchlike - thus giving farmers market-based capital, pending the scrapping of useless DEFRA 'conservation' schemes, and offering a healty food production alternative of supporting theuir industry. In the long-run allowing communities to compete against government farming policy by offering a profitable choice.

Next you'd be having free food for the Heros, which I happen to disagree with, two eat food to celebrate someones death in two world wars, and current war fare I see no sence in it.

I assure you there is no intention whatsoever to do anything of the kind. This has nothing whatsoever to do with wars, death, war heroes or anything like that.
The word hero may have been a little misleading it refers to food heroes not war heroes, not to denigrate war heroes of course. Maybe food champions would be more easily understood, but we learn as we go along, and you are not the only one to misunderstand Several people have pulled us up on the use of the word hero.

Heroes may, on reflection be a little contentious but take it in the spirit it is intended...

That's true what you said many people do take it out of context, I've just done that myself.
