CHRISTMAS SWITCH ON

12 Days of Todmas - On the first day ....
Date: Saturday 20th November 2010
Get in the Christmas spirit today with a series of events to mark the start of the 12 Days of Todmas! Begin your day with a walk through the Water Street Winter Wonderland, from 9am - 5pm, where there will be guaranteed snow, plus street entertainers, music, roasting chesnuts and lots lots more! And then head over to St. Mary's Church for their annual Dickensian Fair, 11am - 3.30pm, their traditional Victorian Fair is a perfect place to find those special Christmas gifts! If you're then starting to feel peckish why not head over to the Market, where you can get a bite to eat, do your shopping and collect the free recipe sheet "How to Cook a Partridge". Then head back to St. Mary's Church to join in the procession at 3.30pm to the Peace Garden ready for Father Christmas to turn on the Christmas lights!

Its not just that day ... there is a booklet out with all the details .. will find out when they will be available and where ..there will be something on all the way to Christmas .. so just go and enjoy

Hang on a minute, I had just finished work and wanted something in the bear, when I came out I went in to Water Street, their wasn't any snow just soap suds made to look as though it snowed, making it very worrying that the suds were turning to ice, because of the cold weather we had people began to slide and not walk through Water Street.

I walked through, glad Tod Together is no longer part of these events, I think it will be quite a austere christmas this year...

Might for you but think about those poor people that have to sleep rough at night.

I think it must have all been happening in the morning I didn't get there until the afternoon and had missed all the music and street entertainers, anyone got photos of what I missed, think most of the stalls had packed up early and gone too.
it's a shame, if I had known it was all in the morning I would have made an effort to go earlier.

well I think you are being kind, it was a complete wast of time. the rest of the town and the market was buzzing but water street was dull. Where were the street performers, hot chestnuts, music and all.
That todmas book said all of that would be on water street, ever heard of trade descriptions act. what a let down, wont bother going to anything the business association puts on again. all hype and no action.

There's been a collection tin at Gina's all month, what was that for I ask myself Tod fest rubbish, I didn't go on I was at the photo exhibition doing my bit to support photography.
